Our story
It started by accident.
One of our founders was just trying to do the right thing in her own workplace - creating a simple safe commuter policy to protect her people. Then, over coffee (or maybe a vino), a couple of girlfriends asked her to help do the same for them.
Suddenly, the gap was obvious. Everyone had a story.
Every woman could recall a time they felt unsafe—at work, on their way home, at an event, in a uniform, in a car park, on a shift. Not always life-threatening. But always limiting. Always affecting how we show up, how much energy we burn planning escape routes, and how much we hold ourselves back just to stay safe.
And while the conversation has come a long way, this issue isn’t new. The data on women’s safety in public spaces—outside of family and domestic violence—goes back to the 1980s (which is how old some of the research is). And yet, very little has changed...
So, we decided to change it.
Now, with our first programs implemented pre-COVID, we’ve spent years creating, testing, and improving practical, evidence based solutions that support women to feel and be safer in the spaces they work, travel, and exist in. What started small has grown into a fierce national mission.
We want to create real change. The kind that eventually puts us out of business.
But until then, we’re here to listen, design, educate, and advocate - for safer systems, workplaces, events, and outcomes. For everyone.
