Phase 1

Phase 1 of our research is a narrative review of existing information and safety data, published in February 2025.  It intends to set the scene for future phases, and guide our ethos and services. 

The headlines:
 

• 1 in 6 women experience stranger violence… zero

• is the acceptable number.

• Some industries are way riskier for women than others.

• Women’s health and travel = Emerging danger zones.

•  CALD and First Nations women face higher stakes with fewer resources.

• Location matters—risks change depending on where you live and work.

•  Planning is everything—we need to rethink urban spaces, events, travel.

•  Governments, employers & orgs —the time to take action is now.

Phase 2

Social Study

Phase 2 of our research was a social study conducted from September 2024 - January 2025 and published in April 

What we learnt:
 

• Nowhere Feels Completely Safe

• Workplace Safety sentiment is alarmingly low

• Transport and Events are Common Sites of Discomfort

• Digital and Health settings Are Emerging Hazard Zones

• There are Cultural and Regional Gaps in Reporting and Safety

• Systemic Solutions Are Urgently Needed

This project aims to consolidate safety ratings and assessment & audit forms into standardised tools, accessible to all organisations and industries. This will help with baseline data, measuring outcomes, understanding impacts, and driving improved safety performance
